AnthillPro 3.8 Tour

UrbanCode is pleased to announce the latest release of AnthillPro. Our customers talked, and we listened. This release has many new features, increased quality and stability, and improved levels of support.

System Level Improvements

  • New Upgrade System

    Once you've upgraded to AnthillPro 3.8, maintenance upgrades will no longer require upgrades for agents. This new system removes the maintenance and security stresses commonly felt during upgrade processes (especially in larger environments). With project planning and manpower needs greatly reduced, critical upgrades can be installed quickly and painlessly.

  • Agent Communication & Management

    AnthillPro 3.8 consolidates agent-server communication in a single process that may be stopped/ restarted using a button in the UI. This allows administrators to restart agent-server communication while maintaining the availability of the UI and the build and deploy services. Combined with the new ability to filter agents by status it is now easier than ever to navigate and control agent-server communication.

  • SSL Certificate Management

    AnthillPro 3.8 continues the trend of centralizing management and monitoring of your enterprise. From the UI you can change the location of agent key stores and view agent SSL certificate data.

  • Preflight

    We've completely rewritten this feature to improve performance and reliability. We've also increased flexibility by allowing the use of multiple repositories, and the ability to set any job step as Preflight.

Build and Workflow Improvements

  • Job Configuration & Runtime

    With AnthillPro 3.8 a single job can now be included multiple times in the same workflow definition. Furthermore, jobs that are used to exclusively to apply a status, stamp, etc., no longer require an agent to run. These agent-less jobs can now be configured to run directly on the server.

  • Dependency Management

    The new Dependency Viewer allows you to visualize and edit dependencies making it easy to configure multiple dependencies for different workflows at the same time. It features a drag-and-drop system that is easy to use, and saves time when managing dependencies. Within the Dependency Viewer you can also create labels which can then be used to define a dependency providing yet another level of customization.

UI Improvements

  • Workflow Property Management

    Further customization and usability improvements can be gained using the new drag-and-drop system to reorder workflow properties.

  • Multi-selects

    In the new UI, you can now add multiple users to a single role in one operation. Users can also add multiple environments to an environment group at the same time. These features save a great deal of time.

  • Search Filtering

    Further functionality is added with the ability to filter searches on the configuration page.

  • Maintenance Lock

    Gain greater administrative control with the ability to lock down a server for maintenance with the click of a button. Once a server has been locked down, no new workflows will be run until Maintenance Lock has been disengaged.

Beta Integrations

UrbanCode would like to work with existing customers to test and fine-tune some new plugin integrations, which are being made available as part of this release. To try out one of the plugins, please contact support with your request.

Improved Support

Along with AnthillPro 3.8, UrbanCode is also releasing a new version of Supportal, that includes new features to provide more visibility and traceability. Highlights of the new Supportal:

  • Known issues and release notes. Automatic release notes and known issues based on public bugs and features.
  • RSS announcements. Critical and non-critical product announcements with RSS feed.
  • Searching. Enhanced search will show matches in bugs, feature requests, or tickets.
  • Integrations & Plugins. New plugin site to handle versions, discussion, experts, etc.
