Building a DevOps Team that Isn't Evil
The concept of a "DevOps team" is controversial. Many in the community worry that the formation of a DevOps team within an enterprise will create additional silos and impair the process, rather than aid in Dev and Ops collaboration. Others see operations groups simply renaming themselves a "DevOps" group in order to be buzz-word compliant. These fears drive the conception that a DevOps team is an evil construct.
At UrbanCode, we regularly work with DevOps teams who are doing great things for their organizations. Gaining full benefits from a DevOps team requires a better understanding of what it is, and what is expected of a DevOps team.
